Goblin

Inside the vast Goblin archive, "Yell" is perhaps one of the less well-known tracks, that undoubtedly deserves no less attention that the band's most famous works. It's a song composed for bass guitar, percussion and keyboards where an opening reminiscent of "L'alba dei morti viventi" is followed by a sudden vibe change, due to the quick entrance of all the other instruments: electric piano chords, a pulsating bass, obscure synths and twisted keyboards still preserve that mix of tension and and darkness that made Goblin unique in the soundtracks area.
The song was composed on commission at the end of 1978 to be used as the intro theme for a series of seven TV thriller/horror movies called "Sette storie per non dormire" (a title that could be translated into "Seven stories that won't let you sleep") that was broadcast in the autumn of the same year by the Italian Rete 2 RAI channel; taking advantage of the success of the series, Cinevox Record decided to release "Yell" on a 45rpm that included, as B-side, the song "...e suono Rock" taken from the album "Il fantastico viaggio del Bagarozzo Mark".

The original edition of "Yell" is today one of the rarest Golbin releases, and is exclusively reissued for the first time ever by AMS Records on red vinyl, for the Record Store Day 2019 event. Not to be missed!

Golden Earring

Originally released in 1973, this is the album that raised the band to an international level of popularity, primarily on the strength of the hit single and enduring radio favourite "Radar Love." Moontan still is the band's most successful album internationally, and paved the way for these Dutch rockers in the USA (where "Candy's Going Bad" was also released as a single). Around the time of the album's release, Golden Earring toured the States with opening acts that would become huge rock bands only a few years later (Aerosmith and KISS). They also shared stages with names like Led Zeppelin, The Who and Pink Floyd.

The line-up of the Earring at that time was Barry Hay, George Kooymans, Rinus Gerritsen and Cesar Zuiderwijk, with special guests Eelco Gelling (slide guitar), Bertus Borgers (saxophone) and Patricia Paay ("lady vocal") on this particular LP. The record combines progressive epics and heavy rockers, and sometimes even combines both elements in one song. Moontan is not just a necessity for Golden Earing fans, it's a worthwhile listen for anyone interested in Seventies Rock at its most adventurous.

Moontan is available as a limited edition of 2.500 individually numbered copies on turquoise coloured vinyl.

A psychedelic rock band formed by Daevid Allen & Gilli Smyth in France in 1969, Gong became pioneers of a new brand of psychedelia/space-rock/trip-rock - with a conceptual ethos involving aliens and alternative realities. An international outfit, increasingly linked to other bands of the Canterbury scene, many musicians came and went. This Record Store Day 2019 release brings this 1973 Gong performance to color double vinyl with original labels, printed inner sleeves, cardboard jacket with two pockets and LP marketing folder (obi).

Chuck Mosley

After three decades working in music, Chuck Mosley (Faith No More, Bad Brains, Indoria, Primitive Race) decided to pursue a solo project with a raw, psychedelic, acoustic direction. Armed with his guitar, a vocal effects processor, and a few friends (Cris Morgan, Randy Pirosko, and Douglas Esper), he embarked on a two year tour and completed a few recording sessions. During a six-hour block in August of 2017 with producer Joe Haze, Chuck recorded two covers, “Nothing Compares 2 U,” originally written by Prince (and originally made famous by Sinead O’Connor), and “Take this Bottle” by Faith No More (a FNM cut recorded during Mike Patton’s reign). The two recordings have never been released until now.

This ended up as Chuck’s last time recording in a studio before his death on November 9th 2017. His guitar solo on Nothing Compares 2 U never got completed as the band had to leave for a show that night in Salt Lake City.

Joe Nardone's All Stars

Joe Nardone Sr., well known in Pennsylvania as a concert promoter and founder of the Gallery of Sound music stores, started his band in the early ‘60s. They became the house band at the Sans Souci Park Dancehall during the summer and the Stardust Ballroom in Wilkes-Barre during the colder months. They were the backing band for artists like Neil Diamond, Sam The Sham, Dion and others when they came to town.

The first, “Caravan Rock,” came out on Madison Records in 1965, while the second, “Shake a Hand,” was released by Red Bird Records in 1967. This Record Store Day 2019 release is a four track red vinyl 7" big hole record featuring songs from the band's single releases in the mid ‘60s. Pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.
