More Info:

Pianist/vocalist/songwriter Camille Howard first came to prominence as an ensemble member of Roy Milton's Solid Senders, in the 1940s. One of the very finest blues piano players of the era, she was known for her fast, complex boogie-woogie style, with it's dexterous fingerwork and powerful drive. Her biggest hits were with sides like 'Thrill Me', 'X-Temporaneous Boogie', 'You Don't Love Me', 'Fiesta In Old Mexico' and 'Money Blues'. She was still only in her early forties when she turned her back on secular music in the mid 1950s, and retired. This compilation anthologises her solo recordings between 1946-1956, and includes a number of sides which were not released the first time around. Also featured are a number of Roy Milton's major hits on which Camille made an aurally notable contribution, be it instrumentally, vocally, or both.
